Open the app and go to the Budget tab. Tap the Connect Bank button in the header. You will be guided through a secure login flow powered by Plaid. Pocket Check only receives read-only access to your account balance and transactions.
Yes. Pocket Check uses Plaid, the same technology trusted by thousands of financial apps, to connect to your bank. Your bank login credentials are never seen or stored by Pocket Check. All data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections.
No. Pocket Check has read-only access to your accounts. We can view your balance and transactions to give you accurate verdicts, but we cannot initiate transfers, move funds, or make any changes to your accounts whatsoever.
When you ask about a purchase, Pocket Check looks at your current bank balance, upcoming bills, budget targets, and spending patterns. It then calculates how much you would have left after the purchase and your upcoming obligations. Yes means you are in a comfortable position, Maybe means it is possible but tight, and No means the purchase would leave you overextended.
Go to the Settings tab in the app and tap Disconnect Bank. This will immediately remove your Plaid access token from our servers and stop all data retrieval from your bank.
You can clear all locally stored data from the Settings screen at any time. To request deletion of any data stored on our servers, email us at pocketcheckapp@gmail.com and we will process your request promptly.
First, make sure you have a stable internet connection. Try disconnecting and reconnecting your bank from the Settings tab. If the issue persists, your bank may temporarily be unavailable through Plaid. You can still use Pocket Check manually by entering your income and balance in the app while you wait. If the problem continues, contact us and we will help.
