Cookie Policy

1. What Cookies Are

Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. They let a site remember things between page loads, such as the fact that you are signed in. Some cookies are “strictly necessary” for a site to work; others are optional and used for things like analytics or advertising. The optional kind runs only with your permission.

2. Strictly Necessary Cookies

2.1 Authentication and Session

We use cookies set by our authentication provider, Supabase, to keep you securely signed in and to protect your session. Without these cookies you could not log in or stay logged in.

2.2 Payments

When you start a subscription or manage billing, our payment processor, Stripe, sets cookies that are required to process the payment securely and to help prevent fraud. These are set during checkout and are governed by Stripe’s own policies.

2.3 Sign-in and Bank Linking

If you sign in with Google, or link a bank through Plaid, those services may set their own cookies to complete that step. They are governed by Google’s and Plaid’s own policies.

3. Optional Cookies (Only With Your Permission)

These run on our public website only: the homepage, pricing, support, the policies and the sign-up and sign-in pages. They never run inside the app after you sign in, and they are not in the iPhone app. Nothing below loads until you choose Allow on the cookie card.

3.1 Analytics

Google Analytics tells us which pages people visit, how they reached the site, what kind of device and browser they use, and roughly where they are, based on IP address. It does not receive your name, your email address, or anything from your account.

3.2 Advertising

Google Ads and Meta (Facebook and Instagram) cookies tell us whether an ad brought you to the site and whether you signed up, so we can see which ads work and show them to people who are likely to be interested. Sending that visit data to an advertising company counts as “sharing” under California law. Choosing No thanks is your opt-out.

3.3 How They Load

All of the above are managed through Google Tag Manager, which loads only after you choose Allow. If you later choose No thanks, we tell those services that your permission is withdrawn, remove their cookies from your browser, and do not load them again.

4. Local Storage

Some features use your browser’s local storage rather than cookies. Your cookie choice is kept there for one year. Your AI chat history and any retirement-planner scenarios are saved in local storage on your own device and are not stored on our servers. The app also keeps a copy of your account data on your device so pages load quickly. It is tied to your account, so someone else who signs in on the same browser does not see it. You can clear all of this through your browser settings.

5. Managing Cookies

• Choose Allow or No thanks on the cookie card the first time you visit the website.
• Change your choice any time: Cookie settings, in the footer of every website page.
• If your browser sends the Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as No thanks and do not show the card.
• You can also view, block, or delete cookies through your browser settings. If you block the strictly necessary cookies, you will not be able to sign in or use the app.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. The “Last Updated” date at the top of this page will reflect any changes.
