We're here to help.
How do I connect my bank account?
Go to Settings in the app and tap "Connect Account." We use Plaid — a trusted bank connection service used by thousands of apps — to securely link your account in read-only mode.
Is Pocket Check free?
Yes! Pocket Check is free to use. We plan to offer an optional Pro plan in the future with additional features.
What banks are supported?
Pocket Check connects to thousands of banks in the US through Plaid, including major banks like Chase, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Capital One, and most credit unions.
Can Pocket Check see my bank password?
No. We never see or store your bank credentials. Plaid handles the secure connection directly with your bank.
Can Pocket Check move or transfer my money?
No. We have read-only access. We can see your balances and transactions, but we cannot move or transfer money in any way.
Where is my data stored?
Your budget data (bills, income, categories) is stored locally on your device. Your Plaid connection token is stored on our secure backend so we can fetch updated account data.
How does the AI financial coach work?
When you ask a question, we send your financial summary (balances, spending, upcoming bills) along with your question to Claude AI by Anthropic. The AI uses this context to give you personalized, relevant advice.
How do I reset my budget?
Go to Settings → "Clear All Data" to reset everything. This removes all locally stored data and disconnects your bank.
My transactions aren't showing. What should I try?
Try tapping "Sync" on the Transactions or Accounts page. If that doesn't work, try disconnecting and reconnecting your bank in Settings. If problems persist, email us.
