1. About Pocket Check

Pocket Check is an AI-powered budgeting tool designed to help you with personal financial management. Pocket Check is not a licensed financial advisor. All information provided by the App is for informational purposes only and should not be construed as financial, legal, or tax advice.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use Pocket Check. By creating an account or using the App, you confirm that you are. Accounts found to belong to anyone under 18 are closed.

3. Your Account and Responsibilities

• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
• You agree to provide accurate and complete information.
• You will not use the App for any unlawful or unauthorized purpose.

4. Subscriptions and Billing

4.1 Plans and Prices

Pocket Check has one plan with two billing options. On the web, it costs $6.99 per month or $59.99 per year, in US dollars. In the iPhone app, the App Store shows the price in your local currency before you buy.

4.2 Free Trial

Your first month is free. The free month starts when you choose a plan and add a payment method: a card on the web, or your Apple account in the iPhone app. Nothing is charged during the free month. When it ends, your subscription begins and the first charge is made to that payment method, unless you cancelled before then. We email you the day before. Each person gets one free month: versions of the same email address, such as one with a “+” tag, count as the same person, and a deleted account does not earn a new one. Accounts created before October 2026 had a 45-day trial with no card instead, and keep it.

4.3 Where You Pay

On the web, payments are processed by Stripe. You can pay by card (including Apple Pay and Google Pay) or with Link. Pocket Check never sees your full card number. In the iPhone app, you pay through your Apple account, and Apple’s terms apply to that purchase. A subscription bought in either place works in both.

4.4 Automatic Renewal

Your subscription renews automatically until you cancel. The first charge is made when your free month ends, then again at the start of each new period: every month on the monthly plan, every year on the annual plan. Each renewal is charged to the payment method on file at that time.

4.5 Cancelling

On the web, go to Settings, then Manage billing. In the iPhone app, cancel in your Apple account settings (on your iPhone: Settings, your name, Subscriptions). Cancelling stops the next renewal. You keep full access until the end of the period you have paid for, and you can turn renewal back on before then. Deleting your account cancels a web subscription at once (see section 4.11). It does not cancel an App Store subscription.

4.6 Switching Plans

On the web, you can switch between monthly and annual in Manage billing. The switch takes effect right away, and your new billing period starts that day. Moving to annual charges the yearly price that day, minus a credit for the unused part of your current month. Moving to monthly turns the unused part of your year into account credit, which pays your monthly charges until it runs out. Account credit cannot be paid out in cash. In the iPhone app, Apple’s rules for changing subscriptions apply.

4.7 Failed Payments

If a renewal payment on the web fails, Stripe tries your payment method again over the following days, and you keep full access while it does. You can update your card from Settings. If every retry fails, we may end your subscription, and your account then becomes read-only as described in section 4.11. For App Store subscriptions, Apple handles failed payments and retries.

4.8 Refunds

Web subscriptions come with a full refund within 14 days of your first paid charge. Renewal charges and charges from switching plans are not refundable. See our Refund Policy for details. Apple handles refunds for purchases made in the iPhone app; request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.

4.9 Taxes

We do not currently add sales tax to web subscriptions. If we start collecting sales tax or a similar tax where the law requires it, the amount will be shown at checkout and on your invoices. For App Store purchases, Apple handles any applicable taxes.

4.10 Price Changes

We may change our prices. For a web subscription, we will email you at least 30 days before a new price applies. The new price starts at your first renewal at least 30 days after that email, and you can cancel before then to avoid it. For App Store subscriptions, Apple tells you about a price change and, where Apple requires it, asks for your consent first. A price change never affects a period you have already paid for.

4.11 When a Trial or Subscription Ends

When your trial ends without a subscription, or your subscription ends, your account becomes read-only. You can still sign in and see your history, but syncing stops and new data is not pulled in. We keep your data until you delete it. Your bank connections stay linked, without syncing, until you disconnect them. If you subscribe again, syncing picks up where it left off. You can disconnect a bank, clear your data or delete your account at any time from Settings. Deleting your account cancels a web subscription immediately, and the rest of that period is not refunded, except under our Refund Policy.

5. Bank and Brokerage Connections

We use Plaid and SnapTrade to connect your bank, card and brokerage accounts. These connections are read-only: we cannot move, transfer or trade your money or investments in any way. You may disconnect an account at any time from within the App.

6. Atlas, the AI Assistant

Atlas, the AI assistant, is provided for informational purposes only. It is not a substitute for professional financial, legal, or tax advice. We make no guarantees about the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of AI-generated responses. Atlas may suggest changes to your data, such as adding a transaction or adjusting a budget; each suggestion is shown to you for review and nothing is saved until you approve it. You are responsible for reviewing those suggestions, and for any receipt or file you choose to attach.

When you scan or attach a receipt, Pocket Check reads it and saves the photo with the purchase so you can view it later. Reading is automated and can be wrong: check the items and amounts before you rely on them. Receipt photos are kept for up to seven years unless you remove them sooner. They are a convenience, not a records service: keep your own copy of anything you need for taxes, a warranty or a return. Only attach receipts you have the right to share.

7. Acceptable Use

• You agree not to reverse engineer, scrape, or otherwise abuse the Pocket Check service.
• You will not use the service in any way intended to harm others.

8. Intellectual Property

The Pocket Check name, logo, and all App content are owned by Pocket Check LLC. You may not use them without our express written permission.

9. Privacy

Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

10. Disclaimers

The App is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free service.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Pocket Check LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of or relating to your use of the App.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time from within the App settings. Deleting your account cancels a web subscription at once. It does not cancel a subscription bought in the App Store; cancel that in your Apple account settings first.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
